Guild Wars platinum Edition
Hi, i recently buy the game. But I can't seem to play the original guild wars. I'm playing Eye of the north instand. Is that normal??? I though when I buy the platinum edition, I would be able to play the original one, and play the expension later on. So my question is, does the platinum edition Let me play the original Guild Wars ??? Because I can only play the expension pack. In the box of the game, I got 1 DVD call Guild Wars platinum Edition and when I put the DVD inside, it auto run and it ask me as option to : Play Guild Wars : Eye of north, Install Direct X 9, Install PlayNC launcher (what does that do??? ), play cinematic and visit web site. Thanks you !!!

I think you're getting confused because the title screen says Eye Of The North - it says that for everyone playing Guild Wars, because it's the latest installment.
If you start in Ascalon, you're playing Prophecies. It's not actually possible to start in EotN, because you can't make a character there. |

Prophecies is the orignal Guild Wars. You own the orignal Guild Wars. The title screen always says "Eye of the North."
There are 6 core classes that existed when the orignal Guild Wars came out, Warrior, Ranger, Monk, Mesmer, Elementalist, and Necromancer. Factions and Nightfall each added 2 new professions, assassins, ritualists, paragons, and dervishes. Those professions didn't exist when the game first came out. Obviously then, there are no quests for those professions in the first Guild Wars since they didn't exist when the game first came out. To play the other 4 professions, you have to buy the chapter that has those exclussive classes. |

Prophecies is the first chapter, so yes, it's the original "Guild Wars".
You can create the 5 "core" character classes - the others were added with Factions (Assassin & Ritualist) and Nightfall (Dervish & Paragon). Hope that helps. Edited: damn typo. Last edited by Jongo River; Apr 29, 2008 at 05:58 PM // 17:58.. |

Alrighty, I will try to help as much as possible.
If you start in Ascalon, thats Prophecies, you can choose from the original 5 classes, Ele, War, Mes, Monk, Necro If you start in Factions you can make any of the original 5 classes or Assasins or Ritualists. note you can't make assasins or rits in any other campaign. NO Paras or Dervs If you start in Nightfall you can make any of the original 5 classes Paragons and Dervishes, NO Sins or Rits You can't start in EoTN but the loading screen for GW shows up as EoTN. You can own any of the three games and at some point you will get access to EoTN eventually. Hope this helps |

Yeah NBAjammer... I'm trying to figure out how 3 people in a row made the mistake of "five professions" instead of six.
